This initiative was aimed at our valued customers who hold an Altogether account, and both celebrated and encouraged eco-friendly decisions in all facets of life. The campaign was focused on sustainability, reinforcing our community values, and showcasing the dedication of our customers and even our staff to making a positive impact. We chose to partner with SecondBite for this campaign, a charity at the forefront of addressing food insecurity, particularly during these challenging times.
The "Make Good Choices" campaign is built on a simple yet powerful premise: inspiring sustainable living through everyday actions. This initiative encouraged participants to embrace a range of eco-conscious practices, with the main areas shared being:
Waste Reduction and Recycling: Focusing on composting, worm farming, and rigorous recycling to minimise waste.
Energy Conservation: Promoting the use of energy-efficient appliances and LED lighting, alongside mindful heating and air conditioning consumption.
Water Conservation: Advocating for water-saving techniques such as collecting shower water for gardening and employing water-efficient devices.
Sustainable Transportation: Encouraging the use of eco-friendly travel options like cycling for local trips.
Community Involvement: Fostering participation in community recycling initiatives and spreading environmental awareness.
Through these efforts, the campaign not only highlighted the importance of individual and collective action in preserving our environment but also demonstrated how sustainability could be seamlessly integrated into our daily lives.

In 2023 alone, SecondBite rescued an astounding 25.2 million kilograms of food, translating to more than 50 million meals for Australians in need. This achievement is particularly poignant given the increasing demand for food relief driven by droughts, floods, fires, and the rising cost of living.
SecondBite's efforts have been further amplified through strategic partnerships, including its annual Winter Appeal in collaboration with Coles and the support of News Corp Australia's food network, like taste.com.au. These alliances have bolstered SecondBite's capacity to reach vulnerable communities, ensuring that excess food from retailers, growers, and manufacturers is redistributed rather than wasted.
The synergy between Altogether Group's campaign and SecondBite's mission highlights a critical message: making good choices has a ripple effect, extending beyond environmental conservation to touch the lives of those around us. As News Corp Australia's community ambassador Penny Fowler remarked, SecondBite's work has never been more vital, especially in navigating the economic challenges that weigh heavily on many Australians.
Supporting SecondBite's Winter Appeal is a straightforward yet impactful way to contribute, with options like purchasing a $2 donation card at Coles or donating at any Liquorland, First Choice Liquor, or Vintage Cellars stores. Each donation goes directly towards helping SecondBite rescue and distribute food to those in need, emphasizing that even small contributions can make a significant difference. We were happy to add to this contribution of $230 from the recent campaign and look forward to identifying more ways to support this initiative within the community.
