Billing Officer- Brisbane based

We are seeking

  • A Brisbane based billing officer

As part of our back office engine, the Billing Officer is responsible for the core bill calculation and presentment processes for utility customers across QLD and NSW. You will be accountable for continuous improvement and implementation of efficient and effective processes and responsible for accuracy and timeliness.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer accounts and records as required
  • Provide a high level of customer care with a professional approach at all times
  • Respond and effectively resolve customer enquiries and complaints relating to billing
  • Oversee and bill single or simple multi-utility sites and complete billing checklist accurately
  • Manage/create charge items accurately, meter reading sheets updated and billing special instructions to ensure they are kept up to date
  • Calculate basic estimations of meter readings where required and record detailed notes on account/s

Qualifications:

  • Year 12 level of education or equivalent

Experience:

 

  • Basic knowledge of billing processes and procedures, work practices and policies.
  • Basic knowledge of customer billing process, in particular relating to the National Energy Industry.
  • Experience in a billing environment, with demonstrated ability in reporting, planning, forecasting, investigations and analysis.
  • Experience and ability in effective negotiation with customers in both technical and commercial matters.
  • Basic knowledge of customer billing IT systems, especially in the area of residential customer accounts (eg. BCMax, Blue Billing).
  • Basic knowledge of the utility energy codes and regulations would be highly regarded.
  • Sound experience of using MS Office in particular good proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Ability to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
  • All positions are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks: National Criminal Records Check and Medical Assessment inclusive of drug and alcohol testing.
