The City of Sydney is creating a new green community underpinned by environmental sustainability. Green Square is set to become a true exemplar of green living with developments using recycled water, greater bike, walking and public transport links, quality community facilities, parks, entertainment and retail.

Altogether provides recycled water

What are the authorised purposes of recycled water at this community?

Altogether Green Square provides recycled water  to all new residential, commercial, retail and government assets and parks across the precinct. 

Recycled water can be used for:

  • toilet flushing
  • cold water supplies to washing machines
  • irrigation
  • car washing
  • use in ornamental water features
  • dust suppression for construction activities
  • washdown of hard surfaces
  • street cleaning
  • cooling towers

3 Joynton Avenue, Zetland. This Centre is located in the old hospital, now known as the Green Centre.

Altogether's services are licensed under the Water Industry Competition Act 2006 (NSW):

  • The infrastructure is constructed, operated and maintained under network operator licence 15_031 held by Altogether Green Square Pty Ltd
  • The retail, customer service and billing services are provided under retail supplier's licence 13_001R held by Altogether Group Pty Ltd

Commercial operations approval has been granted in stages on 15th June 2016 and 17th May 2018.

Local stormwater passing through the Green Square precinct is harvested through a decentralised sustainable water network. It is sent back to the Altogether Water Centre at the heart of the community.

This Centre is located in the old South Sydney Hospital, now known as the Green Infrastructure Centre.

Green Square uses ultrafiltration membrane technology and Reverse Osmosis (RO) to clean and treat water.

Green Square is a leading green development. Underpinned by energy, waste and water sustainability, the $8 billion development has about 5,700 new homes with close to 11,000 more residents. By 2030, Green Square is expected to attract 40,000 new residents and 22,000 new workers.

Altogether Green Square reuses 900,000 litres of stormwater every day through its sustainable, state-of-the-art recycled water system. That’s 328 million litres every year. We provide apartments, offices and businesses with a secure and environmentally friendly source of water for everyday household and business use and to sustain valuable parks and green space.
